Roofline Systems
Rotting Fascias, Blocked Gutters, and Peeling Soffits Are Destroying Your Building. We Replace the Lot.
Fascias, soffits, gutters, and bargeboards — the roofline details that protect the edge of your building from water damage. In UPVC, aluminium, zinc, copper, or any metal you need.
Your Roofline Is Rotting From the Outside In
Timber fascias and soffits absorb moisture, swell, crack, and rot. Paintwork peels within years. Gutters overflow because nobody sized them properly or maintained the falls. Water pours down the face of the building, staining brickwork and saturating the wall below.
On commercial buildings, blocked and overflowing gutters cause thousands of pounds of internal damage every year. And because the roofline is high up, the damage goes unnoticed until it is a serious problem.
Modern UPVC and metal roofline systems eliminate maintenance, stop rot, and manage rainwater properly.
Common Roofline Failures
- Timber fascia boards rotting and pulling away from the rafter feet
- Paint peeling on soffits exposing bare timber to moisture
- Gutters overflowing because they were never sized for the roof area
- Gutter joints leaking and staining the building facade
- Blocked downpipes causing water to back up and overflow
- Birds nesting in gaps between rotting soffits and the wall
What We Install
Complete roofline systems in UPVC and all metals — supplied and installed by Vanguard.
Complete Roofline Packages
Fascia boards, soffits, guttering, bargeboards, and cladding trims — all supplied and installed as one coordinated package. No chasing multiple trades.
UPVC & Metal Options
Maintenance-free UPVC in white, black, grey, and woodgrain finishes. Or aluminium, zinc, and copper for commercial and heritage buildings that demand a premium finish.
Guttering Systems
Half-round, ogee, deep-flow, and box profile gutters in UPVC and all metals. Properly sized and fall-adjusted to handle your roof's water run-off — not just stuck on level.
Removal of Old Timber
We strip out rotten timber fascias and soffits completely — not just cap over the top like many installers. Proper preparation means proper results.
Ventilated Soffits
Building Regulations require roof void ventilation in most situations. We install vented soffits that meet the requirements — not solid boards that trap moisture and cause condensation.
Colour-Matched Finishes
UPVC in standard and bespoke colours, powder coated aluminium in any RAL reference, and traditional metals in their natural patina. Matched to your building's existing colour scheme.

Commonly Asked Questions
Should I choose UPVC or aluminium roofline products?
UPVC is the most cost-effective option and perfectly suitable for most residential and light commercial buildings. Aluminium is more durable, available in more colours, and has a longer lifespan — making it the better choice for commercial properties, exposed locations, and buildings where appearance matters. We install both and will recommend the right option for your situation.
Can you just replace the gutters without doing the fascias?
Yes, if the existing fascia boards are sound. But if your fascias are timber and showing any sign of rot, it makes sense to replace everything in one visit rather than paying twice for scaffolding. We will inspect and give you an honest assessment.
Do you install seamless aluminium gutters?
Yes. Seamless aluminium gutters are roll-formed on site to the exact length required — no joints to leak. They are more expensive than sectional guttering but offer a superior finish and much longer lifespan. Ideal for commercial buildings and premium residential properties.
How much does a full roofline replacement cost?
A typical semi-detached house costs £1,500–£3,000 for full UPVC roofline replacement including fascias, soffits, and guttering. Commercial buildings are quoted per linear metre — typically £40–£80/m for UPVC and £60–£120/m for aluminium systems. We provide fixed-price quotations after survey.
Do you work on commercial and industrial buildings as well as houses?
Primarily commercial and industrial, yes. We are building envelope specialists — our core work is on schools, hospitals, offices, warehouses, apartment blocks, and public buildings. But we also carry out residential roofline work, particularly on larger properties and housing developments.
